This scan has a long history (10+ years) and been applied to many companies. Therefore has (some) merit.

In the back of the book Designed for Digital by Jeanne Ross, there is a quick scan of the maturity of the five building blocks of Digital Transformation. The book itself is based on work of MIT on Digital Transformations. The book is accessible to people in and outside of IT.

Another way to determine how easy change is for your context, there is a method currently developed by Barry O’reilly.
He has done workshops on this for two years all over the world with various people and organizations. The output seems consistent over the years. The residuality score provides insight in how well your system can deal with change.
